IUPUI University Library’s 3rd and 4th floors are getting a renovation this Fall. The library has not had a significant update since it was opened in 1993. The renovated spaces will improve the library’s function as the informal learning hub of the campus. The new design will improve private, quiet study spaces on the 3rd floor, and it will increase the amount and quality of collaborative, group study spaces on the 4th floor. More than 400 new private study carrels, tables, couches, and other seats will be added to the renovated floors.

Last year I wrote a post comparing ResearchGate with our institutional repository for generating downloads of openly shared manuscripts. In short, the repository beat ResearchGate by 84% in download counts for the works that I have shared on both sites. If I want people to find and read my articles, I’m not wasting my time with ResearchGate.
