Dr. Gemmicka Piper Receives University Library Trustees' Teaching Award

This year's recipient of the University Library's Trustees' Teaching Award is Dr. Gemmicka Piper. Dr. Piper joined University Library in 2018 and is a Humanities Librarian and the library's Digital Humanities Coordinator.

In her role as liaison to the Departments of English and World Languages & Cultures Dr. Piper is an active and effective teaching librarian, incorporating best practices including the use of curriculum maps and pedagogical scaffolding. Dr. Piper was heavily involved in the production of peer-reviewed asynchronous learning objects and has published two book chapters concerning teaching and pedagogy.

The Trustees' Teaching Award is awarded annually and includes a monetary stipend. We congratulate Dr. Piper on her achievement.
