Using Course Materials to Enhance Racial Equity in the Curriculum Award

In keeping with IUPUI’s Diversity Plan (2016-2021) and IUPUI University Library’s 2020-2025 Diversity Plan, the Library has created the Enhancing Racial Equity in the Curriculum Award to recognize faculty efforts to increase equity, inclusion, and representation in their courses through the provision of diverse course materials (i.e. e-books and streaming videos).   Instructors may be in the process of integrating or currently using diverse course materials. This year’s award will focus on materials related to racial equity and successful applicants will have detailed how the requested materials are already being used or will be used to enhance their curriculum.

To increase accessibility and affordability for students, the successful applicants will see their requested materials  purchased or licensed and added to University Library’s collection allowing instructors to link to or place on reserve those requested items.

Awardees will also receive a digital award certificate from the Library detailing award information for easy inclusion in annual reviews and dossiers. To nominate yourself for this award, please complete nomination form.

Please be aware that some proposed materials may not be available for the library to purchase and/or license. The Library will not subscribe to ongoing resources (i.e., journals or databases) as part of this award program.
