 Concise Dictionary of Crime and Justice (HV6017 .D38 2002, Reference)Intended for academics, practitioners, and crime writers, this reference book defines approximately 2,000 criminal justice terms. Arranged alphabetically, entries provide a definition, discuss common misconceptions and controversies, and provide references to related entries. Included are technical terms, slang, historical events and persons. Available at IUPUI in paper—it is kept in the reference area.

Encyclopedias 

Encyclopedia of Criminology (HV6017 .E5295, in reference)This three-volume work offers a wide-ranging review of the pivotal concepts, measures, theories, and practices that comprise criminology and criminal justice. It is available in paper in  the reference room of IUPUI University Library.  

Encyclopedia of Criminology and Deviant Behavior (HV6017 .E53, in reference)This highly comprehensive encyclopedia is separated into four volumes, covering Historical, Conceptual, and Theoretical Issues and Self Destructive and Disvalues Identity. There are over 550 entries--each with 2,000 to 3,500 words covering a multitude of topics related to criminology, deviant behavior, and other unusual sociological phenomena. Each entry includes a comprehensive definition of the term, concise practical information (such as tables and/or diagrams), and a bibliography;. 

Encyclopedia of International Organized Crime (HV6441 .D48 2005, in reference)Designed to “entertain and inform,” The Encyclopedia of International Organized Crime is the first comprehensive reference to organized crime in the global era and the world's most notorious crime syndicates. Encyclopedia of Crime and Punishment (HV6017 .E524 2002, in reference)This work seeks to give readers a broad overview by bringing together material from numerous sources. The encyclopedia's four hefty volumes include 430 signed entries, which are followed by a 'Readers Guide' that helps locating articles on related topics.
