On This Day in IUPUI History: November 4, 2014

November 4, 2014.

On this day, IUPUI chancellor Charles Bantz congratulated the men's Cross-Country team for finishing first at the Summit League Championships held in Fargo, North Dakota on November 1. At the meet, the IUPUI team bested other Summit League teams. Jaguar runner Tom Ohlman posted the fastest time in the meet, and Miguel Lozano took third, over the eight kilometer course. Their times were 25:23.2 and 25.31.6, respectively. In 2015 the men's team again won the Summit League Championship.

Men's Cross Country began at IUPUI in 1997. In the following year they began competition in the Mid-Continent conference. Since then, IUPUI teams have placed high in conference, state and NCAA regional meets. IUPUI athletes are now in their second year of Horizon League competition, and the cross-country teams are in the middle of their seasons.
