Find Internet Resources
Much of what you need for your research is not freely available on the World Wide Web. That's why the library pays to subscribe to hundreds of article databases and online journals.

- Try websites of professional associations.
- Try government websites (especially for statistics ).
- Try the library's subject guides for recommended websites.
- Search Engine Tips
- Use quotation marks to get more specific results
- Think of phrases that are likely to appear in the text of a useful site (Ex, "how to make apple pie", "how to train for a marathon")
- Tips for using Google's Basic Search .
- Try an "advanced" search.
- Tips for using Google's Advanced Search .
Because anyone can easily create and post information to the open web, it's very important to critically evaluate the information you find using Google, Yahoo!, or other search engine.
