OJS 3.0 is here!

The long-awaited release of Open Journal Systems (OJS) 3.0 is here, which is great news for journals publishing on the platform. Major improvements include significant updates to the reader interface, flexibility in determining the editorial workflow, and a greatly simplified interface for those involved in journal production. While aesthetics is only a small piece in the larger puzzle of how to successfully start and run a journal, prospective journal editors were vocal in their disappointment with the look of OJS. The new version of OJS will allow journals to achieve a custom look more easily through the use of Bootstrap themes.

In the coming months, we will work to upgrade our journals to OJS 3.0 so that editors and production staff can take full advantage of the new features. Stay tuned to this blog for news and updates on this process.
